Every Cup Tells a Simple
Story

Our Story

Tea & Soul is an established limited liability company incorporated in Sri Lanka by two enthusiasts for tea and farming. One is Maali, a first-class cricketer, organic farmer, and mango planter; and Dr. Eme, an IT specialist, is also an organic farmer and tea planter. When Maali was in the United Kingdom in 2019 for the first time to play cricket, he was having tea in the UK, and he realised that back home in Sri Lanka, tea has more flavour and character. After a few years, Maali shared the idea of starting a premium pure Ceylon tea brand with Eme, and then they founded Tea & Soul in 2023. Since their enthusiasm for tea, they both have done a specialised diploma in tea grading, tasting, and blending to give their consumers a high-quality tea experience. T & S is trying to make their products as eco-friendly as possible. They are using biodegradable pyramid tea bags that are staple-free. Some of the teas are sourced from Henfold Estate, one of the oldest tea estates in Sri Lanka with a rich heritage, which was established in 1868. Tea & Soul isn't just a tea brand; it's a crafted experience meant to touch your soul. Every sip is an invitation to pause, to savour, and to connect, whether with yourself in peaceful solitude or with a cherished companion.

Malinga Amarasinghe

Co-founder

Malinga Amarasinghe is not just a skilled cricketer from Sri Lanka but also a soul deeply connected to the lush beauty of nature. He played for Sri Lanka Cricket U19 and for a few renowned cricket clubs in Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. Still, he is actively batting on the field. Mali promotes the organic growing of vegetables in limited space in his home. He finds his sanctuary in the fields, cultivating not just tea leaves but a vision of blending the best Ceylon tea to share with the world. The inspiration comes not only from the rich tea estates but also from the love for organic farming that blooms within him. He further envisions a future with more sustainable living.
